ROAD TRIP!!!

So this last weekend (why is it called labor day when no one works.....hmmmm) after having a phenomenal lasagna dinner with our old friends James and Tina Mayo (GO MARINES!!!) , we took a road trip and went to Columbia, MO.

We had the typical, let's try to leave by 9 and not actually leave till 10am start, and then got to Columbia in time to rest and get the kids napping. We then got to experience a very nice reception for our good friend Mark Beard and his new bride Julie. The kids did great while we were gone and loved playing with thier cousins Grant and Christian.

Sunday was a great day for visiting with lots of old friends. We saw quite a few of them as we went to church in the Smithon Ridge ward, and then went over to Neal and Denean Brady's new apartment/duplex for a phenomenal dinner (steak, potato salad, strawberries, and this really cool antipasto of tomato, red bell pepper, mozzarella cheese and some kind of dressing!) Great food, good friends, and wonderful conversation.

Monday started with a late brunch of omlete, muffin, and fruit salad. The doughnuts were not really worth mentioning, but there were things there called doughnuts. Let's just say that we stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way back to try and get the horrible memory out of our brains...it's only worked a little bit...might have to get more doughnuts to try and wipe the memory completely (hey, whatever excuse necessary....right?!!!). We then went to see more old friends (Wes and Melissa Baldwin) for lunch...more great food ....bratwurst, fruit tray and veggie tray, and a Wesley Drink (pinapple-orange-banana juice with ginger ale!) hmmm...

Theme for the weekend---GOOD FOOD (did I mention the prime rib at the reception??)--great friends..and giving Kevin (cari's younger brother) a hard time (I know, we aren't supposed to make fun...but it's just so darn easy!).

All-in-all a good weekend. (and looking forward to a short week!!!) (did you notice I called all my friends OLD!!!!! HA HA HA)
